Crispy New Cuts is an on-going series spotlighting 7 fresh new songs that have recently crossed our path and deserve a bit more shine.

Dose "Furniture"

It’s always exciting when a new band comes out the gate with a strong debut single, and a recent act to do so is Newcastle, UK band Dose. This A-side to their upcoming debut 7” vinyl single is a blistering dose (😉) of experimental noise-rock that’s quickly reminiscent of Sonic Youth’s most digestible offerings.

Inner Tongue "Teeth"

Inner Tongue is a Vienna-based project led by a musician that was diagnosed with a rare, severe vocal cord disorder in 2013, a condition which forced him into silence. Taken away from music during this time and into an exhaustive work schedule in order to afford an expensive operation, he’s now recovered and immersing himself back into a creative space. “Teeth” is the lead single from Inner Tongue’s upcoming debut album ‘Favours’ that’s due out May 25th and provides an impressive introduction to his smoldering R&B/pop sound.

Meernaa "Wildest Eyes"

We’re digging this slinky new single from this Oakland-based project fronted by Carly Bond, a shimmery slice of soulful synth-pop that rests nicely alongside the slow-motion works of Little Dragon and Quadron. When the bands members aren’t working on their own music, the members of Meernaa work as engineers and session musicians at John Vanderslice’s renowned Tiny Telephone Studios, and this strong musicianship shines through on their latest single “Wildest Eyes,” the first taste of their upcoming debut EP ‘Strange Life.’

Nana Adjoa "Honestly"

Some more seductive and jazzy R&B/pop vibes courtesy of Amsterdam-based Dutch-Ghanaian artist Nana Adjoa and her new single “Honestly,” the first track off her upcoming EP ‘Down at the Root (Part 2)” that’s coming out June 2018.

Nu Guinea "Je Vulesse

Italian duo Nu Guinea just dropped their sophomore album ‘Nuova Napoli’ and it’s a brilliant fusion of nostalgic funk grooves heavily indebted to the timeless rhythms of disco and Afrobeat. While infectious all the way through, we’ve got the vocal-laced cut “Je Vulesse” on repeat.

Taliwhoah "Details (Miracles Remix)"

We’ve long been impressed with the sultry R&B stylings of London-based artist Taliwhoah and the lead single from her recent release ‘New Wave Order Vol. 1’ just received a solid remix treatment in the form of ‘Details: The Sequel’ that adds a welcoming pulse to the spacious tune. This whole set is solid, but we’re hooked on this dreamy dancehall-tinged remix from emerging DJ/producer Miracles.

VVV (Trippin'You) "L'Ennui

Not to be confused with talented Austin-based electronic producer VVV, Madrid-based trio VVV (Trippin’You) recently crossed our paths and this new single + accompanying video is an solid showcase of their dark coldwave sound that’s packed with a tense, captivating energy.
